This unprovenienced "Buenos Aires-Úraba Polychrome" type aerophone is shaped like an oblate spheroïd fitted on a straight spike. It has been housed at the Art & History Museum (AHM), Brussels, since 1947. It was manufactured in the Puntarenas Province, Buenos Aires Canton (Costa Rica), during the Chiriquí Phase (AD 800-1550). This flute was formerly part of the Germaine Wenziner private collection. Archaeological region & sub-region: Greater Chiriquí, Diquís.
